Here are a few environmentally friendly ideas and environmentally friendly suggestions on how to have a green earth wonderful, gift-giving holiday season and still be earth green friendly the day after the holiday.

1. There is a time when you are not sure what to get someone? That is the time tothink about a gift certificate? That way, you know the gift will be kept, as long as they remember where they hid it.

2. Make gifts instead of buying one. Tell us the person who doesn't appreciates a home-cooked meal or baked goodies. 3. Let us consider nonmaterial gifts as an option. You can purchase tickets to a sporting event, movie, play, or

concert and that would be a real treat. Or you can make a charitable donation in someone's name and memorialize their memory. 4. When you go shopping, bring your own reusable bags and save a tree or two.

5. Think durable long lasting gifts. When you consider how long an item will last before you make a purchase you are thinking long term. Often, a cheaper item will wear out long before its more durable equivalent and doesn't everyone like labels?

6. Remember to look for items made with recycled content and make it an environmentally friendly holiday.

7. Whenever you are able wrap the gift in a drawstring bag and use an inexpensive luggage tag for the gift tag - giving two gifts for the price of one.

8. Decorate oversized gifts with just a bow that can be used again and that way the savings are passed on to everyone.

9. Save the paper and the tree and the planet by giving your grandchildren that game or toy in a new backpack designed pillow case that will make mom, dad and the children feel great.
